Minimize my vehicle emissions
Reducing vehicle emissions is one of the most effective ways to combat air pollution around the world. Unlike pollution emitted from household coal-burning during the cold months, vehicle emissions are a year-round source of pollution that is both preventable and manageable in Mongolia.
Vehicle emissions can trigger health problems such as aggravated asthma, decreased lung capacity, and increased susceptibility to respiratory diseases, including pneumonia, bronchitis, and even COVID-19! It also contributes to children’s cognitive development and health.
Moreover, many vehicles in Mongolia have right-hand steering wheels, which contributes to traffic congestion. Outdated cars also contribute to air pollution. Unfavorable road conditions further make walking, cycling, and other zero-emission alternatives to driving difficult.
It is crucial that we take action to minimize vehicle emissions to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our environment. Take the pledge to reduce your own vehicle emissions!
I pledge to Minimize my vehicle emissions
I will switch to an eco-driving style, choose low-emission fuels and vehicles, and regularly maintain my car to reduce emissions.
