Let's use safe cleaning product
On average, we spend approximately 90% of our day indoors, whether it’s at home, in a classroom, or at the office. The quality of the air in these indoor environments plays a crucial role in our overall health and well-being. Various chemical substances found in cleaning products can enter our bodies through inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact, and can have detrimental effects on our health. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) provide a clear example of this phenomenon. In the short term, VOC exposure can lead to irritation of the eyes, nose, mouth, and throat, while in the long term, it can contribute to chronic issues such as headaches, skin allergies, and asthma. Higher concentrations of VOCs in the air can have more severe impacts on the liver, lungs, and nervous system. Notably, infants and young children exposed to these pollutants are at risk of developing respiratory diseases, allergies, asthma, and immune-related problems. Furthermore, research has linked certain VOCs to cancer.
